3-day desert tour: Marrakech – Marrakech

3-day tour of the Marrakech desert via the Atlas Mountains, the Kasbah d’Ait-benhadou, the Dades Gorges, the Todra Valley and the Sahara Dunes of Merzouga.

 

Day 1: Marrakech – Dades Gorges

The adventure begins as you leave Marrakech for the Dades Gorge. On the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains, and have the opportunity to stop and admire the breathtaking scenery. The highlight of the day is a visit to the famous Kasbah d’Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Morocco’s most emblematic landmarks. This ancient fortified village has been the setting for numerous films and offers a glimpse into Morocco’s rich history. After a traditional lunch, you’ll continue your journey to the Dades Gorge, where you’ll marvel at the spectacular rock formations and winding roads. At the end of the day, you’ll settle into your hotel in Dades for a comfortable night’s sleep.

 

Day 2: From the Dades gorges to the Sahara desert (277 km)

After breakfast, you’ll set off for the Sahara Desert, with several exciting stops along the way. Your first stop will be the Gorges du Todra, a magnificent canyon with towering cliffs that are perfect for a short walk and memorable photos. Next, you’ll drive through the Valley of the Roses, where you’ll visit Kelaat M’Gouna, a town famous for its rose products and annual rose festival. You’ll also have the chance to explore Berber canals and discover the traditional irrigation systems used by local tribes. After a local lunch and break, you’ll continue your journey towards the Sahara Desert. On arrival, you’ll take a magical camel ride into the desert, where you’ll witness a breathtaking sunset over the dunes. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars, accompanied by local music and drum performances. You’ll spend the night in a luxury desert camp, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Sahara.

 

Day 3: Sahara Desert to Marrakech

On your final day, you’ll wake to a peaceful desert sunrise and enjoy breakfast at camp. Then you’ll begin your return journey to Marrakech. Along the way, you’ll make several stops for lunch, photos and relaxation, allowing you to enjoy the final moments of your Moroccan adventure. You’ll arrive in Marrakech in the evening, bringing your unforgettable tour to a close.
